Artist Aisha Al Sabagh has been practicing her hobby of making bouquets of roses, replicas of fruit and some household accessories with ceramic paste since the 1980s. She excels in making ceramic dates and places them in palm-frond baskets. They reflect nature and the Bahrainis’ hospitality and can be given away as gifts. She has also mastered the art of crochet using the best of wool and needles. She has knitted beautiful clothes for women and children and decorated towels and sheets. She also makes gifts and sets meant for newborn children, hats, shawls, shoes and accessories for girls.

Aisha has taken part in many exhibitions and festivals organised by the Craft Centre in Bahrain and abroad. She has also organised training courses to teach the basic steps to prepare ceramic paste and make objects out of it as well as to teach the basics of crochet. She hopes to set up a training centre specialising in ceramics and crochet.
